Camminando con Dante. La via Coeli

Camminando con Dante (Walking with Dante) is a literary trail that you can travel alone or in company. A simple path to be travelled leisurely, accompanied by the words of the Supreme Poet. Guiding you along the path of Monte Crosio are the words of the second cantica of Dante’s Purgatory from The Divine Comedy. His verses, scattered along the path, will lead you on a spiritual immersion into the facets of nature and the magical atmosphere of the Crosio forest.

Camminando con Dante is an immersive experience, guiding you to one of Clusone’s landmarks. The route starts from Piazza Manzù to reach the Chiesetta di Crosio, where you can enjoy views of the complex landscape of the Clusone plateau from the quaint little church.

Description: The trail for Camminando con Dante starts from Piazza Manzù, where the first cultural sign is located. Continue in the direction of the Conad supermarket on Viale Gusmini. Once you reach the supermarket, walk along the road until you come to the entrance to the underground car parks. The beginning of the path up to the summit can be clearly identified by the steps and the corresponding signage. Following the five aediculae (little shrines) distributed along its path on the north side, we take the most direct route along a short but steep trail. At the peak, in addition to the splendid views of Clusone, we can appreciate the little church dedicated to the Holy Trinity.
Cross to the other (south) side then, heading to the right on the path that initially runs alongside the church, descend to the west and ascend for a stretch of about 50 metres before returning downhill. After a hunting lodge, the path becomes steeper and more winding. At the next fork, we keep to the right to return to the starting point.

As part of the project Alla Scoperta dei Luoghi Perduti in ValSeriana (Discovering the Lost Locations in ValSeriana), implemented within the framework of the Lombardia Attrattiva call, the intent is to enhance the area’s natural heritage in an original and innovative way in various expressive, cultural and literary languages.
